MMMmmmm....New Year's Day. I was just mentioning to a friend of mine (one who usually professes to not get hangovers...we all know that special kind of greenhorn) how generally my New Year's Day hangovers are the worst of the year. This was not the case last year, but I think the exception proves the rule, because the Hangover Fairy was back with a vengeance this morning.

New Year's Eve was uneventful. The Best Friend came up for a couple days and we had sushi, then spent the rest of the night driving around with the growing suspicion we would actually spend that first moment of the new year in the car, listening to Jay-Z. We didn't--we spent it in the Meck, then went over to Stonewalls, where I drank way too many vodka and sodas and downed one Red Headed Slut more than I needed. So this day I spent primarily on the couch.

However, loyal readers, things are looking up for yours truly in 2004. I hate to jinx myself by saying this, but I've been relatively lucky lately. I have a job at a publishing house in Frederick, which starts on Monday (pleasegoddon'tletmefuckthisup). I seem to be keeping my weight down, and, my favorite part of all, I have the Canadian. I haven't spoken to him recently but get this--I'm not worried about it. I'm not stressing. I trust him enough (first time in my LIFE) that I'm not being hideously paranoid. Things are pretty good. I hope the same goes for you all as well...This blog is about to get super boring if things are going to keep running so smoothly but hell, it's me. Things are never quiet for long.

New Year's Resolution #1
--To be living in Paris by the time I turn 26.

New Year's Resolution #2
--To weigh ### lbs by this time next year. I really was about to type out how much I want to weigh, but you don't really need to know, do you?
