Almost Classic Rock-Age...and the Flickr pics

In a fit of sodden (it's wicked humid up here) procrastination energy, I was cleaning stuff. As I cleaned, I came across an old mix tape I'd made in college, my freshman year. I had cleverly named it, of course: "Dorm Mix - College Credits". It's the "credits" part that's genius, you understand.

Still, check out the lineup. Year 2000, anyone?
  1. "She's So High" - Tal Bachman
  2. "Right Here, Right Now" - Fatboy Slim
  3. "Leaving On A Jet Plane" - Chantal Kreviazuk
  4. "Killing Me Softly" - The Fugees (not Roberta Flack...funny story there...)
  5. "There She Goes" - Sixpence None The Richer
  6. "Hyper-Ballad" - Bjork
  7. "Where The Streets Have No Name" - U2
  8. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" - U2 (oh, just wait...)
  9. "With or Without You" - ...
  10. "Red Hill Mining Town" - U2, again.
  11. "Black Balloon" - Goo Goo Dolls
  12. "Alive" - Third Eye Blind
  13. "Mambo No. 5" - Lou Bega (don't even act like you don't know that one)
  14. "One" - by a little band from Ireland called...U2!!!
  15. "Until the End of the World" - Me too? no, U2
  16. "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" (in my defense, many of these songs are from Achtung Baby)
  17. "Millennium" - Robbie Williams ("some say that we are players/some say that we are pawns")
  18. "Cowboy" - Kid Rock
  19. "Wish I Was Your Lover" - Sophie B. Hawkins
  20. "Hands" - Jewel
First, is anyone else impressed that I fit 20 full-length songs onto one magnetic tape? I am. I was good, dammit. If I could find my old tapes, the mixes that I made slowly and painfully off WINC FM (Winchester, Virginia), off of HFS (Baltimore) and DC 101, I would put that into some kind of data file. The hours that went into making those mixes should not be left to waste.

And second, pic should be up on Flickr any time now. I believe it's open to the public, but if you can't access it, let me know and I'll adjust.
