Then you may want to consider sponsoring my own dear roomie times 2 (we broke up after my first tumultuous year in Boston, but were reunited for the love of Erin Burke and a wee bungalow in Brighton this past fall) in his run for Liver Disease Research at this year's Boston Marathon.
As a side note, sometimes the very idea of my Law School Roommate boggles my mind. Intelligent, witty, good-looking, a fabulous dancer and singer (ask him about his plans for a New Edition cover band!), diplomatic, a fair-minded and even-tempered individual, sweet, compassionate, leaves the bathroom cleaner than I do, a magnificent cook, out-going, student president of his undergraduate college, already has a good job with a prestigious firm. And I wish I could even say I were being sarcastic, or perhaps exaggerating these attributes. But even as I wrote them I thought of even more to add to the list. So really, it's all true, which in reality is kind of incredible.
And now he's running the Boston marathon and I have to hand it to him -- this is really the cream of things admirable as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather not leave the city without having run it myself but maybe I'll just settle for, "Yeah, I lived with a guy who ran the Boston marathon."
Of course, I'll be saying that right after I finish #2 on the list of the top ten hardest and least-known races in the world. Because haven't you always wanted to compete in the Iditarod? I'm serious!!
