This is why I got a flu shot this winter. I didn't get sick until the very end, but all of a sudden every one of my student workers has come moping around with some kind of horrible sore-throat-turned-head-cold hybrid. Poor kids. I feel for them, but I prefer to send my sympathy from a distance, especially when you sound like a TB patient. I don't want to get sick again. Particularly since one of the huge downsides to having gotten sick (and my most recent spectacular bike wreck) is having missed out on going to the gym/working out in general for the past 2 weeks. I finally got back to it a couple days ago and my poor silhouette looks worse than it did in March. I really, REALLY need to improve my pity-party eating habits (apparently ice cream is NOT an American Medical Association-approved health food for invalids with cold and flu. I was shocked, I tell you, shocked).
So. Back to football practice. And LEG WAXING TOMORROW!! I'll let you know. I'm not sure if it'll be quite to the level of detail that it was that time that Angie Poff decided to tell a select audience of her friends about her laser surgery, but I'll at least tell you if it works as well as they say.

...as they often do.
"Things became erotic at the drop of a hat."
I don't remember what PA book this came from, but it's pure genius. I might have actually listed it in the BEB blog but I don't have the attention span to go and check. I'm supposed to be working right now, anyway.

From The Archives: PA Flashback
I initially wrote this waaaaaay back in, oh, I don't know, February of 2004? I don't actually know. And then I did start a blog , which, though short-lived, was a good release for the utter foolishness that was (still is?) Publish America. I'd link them too, but my therapist said that would probably stir up my PTSD again.
I would branch out and start a new special blog for my new special job if I thought anyone actually kept up with this. At this point it has become solely for my own gratification...and I like it this way.
My favorite line of the day from the book I am currently editing:
"Memories keep us alive, don’t they? They have to be refreshed for our psychological health. My cousin, who is a fine orthopedic surgeon, told me so!"
This one, my friends, is a real winner. At first I thought, ooo, what a spare and emotionless writing style this author has--trying to say something about his tragic background without melodrama. And then, I realized that in point of fact, this person simply cannot write. Oh dear.

FYI: I'm half-heartedly running a second blog, all about my job at the Publishing House. I want to warn you that this is full, not only of my own profanity, but of others' as well, AND some of the most inanely stupid and horrible writing you will ever encounter in your life.
which is why I'm only doing this half-heartedly. It's bad enough I have to read it for a living. I can hardly bear to inflict it upon my friends.
it's www.theothercatseye.blogspot.com
enjoy, for what it's worth.
