List Of Things That Are Great

I just got back from a self-indulgent trip home to Shepherd's Bush and was reminded of all the things I really like about my home town. I'll get around to linking these things later, but in the meantime:

  • The Lost Dog Cafe. Always, always the Lost Dog. The best coffee house I've ever found, period.
  • The Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. The guides who bring tourists and shamefully unadventurous locals down those rivers (namely, my sisters and brothers and their friends).
  • Flying Dog Ale, a local brew (I just found this out -- it's made in Frederick, MD!)
  • My little brother's incessant hunger for music which has recently pumped up my own music catalogue.
  • My dogs. Always, always my dogs. They're the handsomest, smartest, sweetest, most wonderful dogs ever.
  • My house and its attendant farm and chaos.
  • My neighbor Brenda.
  • Grapes & Grains, a new wine store where my sister works in "downtown" Shepherdstown. They're awesome.
  • Stone Soup Bistro. Sometimes on, sometimes off, but always a pleasure.
  • My best friend the Dirty Hippie, and her newfound freedom.
  • Driving my family's cars. Driving in general.
  • The roads of Jefferson County and surrounding countrysides.
  • The sunlight and the way the sky looks in the Panhandle.
  • How I feel when my feet begin walking me out of the good city of Boston, bringing me back home...
And the new Gnarls Barkley album (The Odd Couple) got mediocre reviews from Time magazine (that should say it all, though) but I'm really enjoying it so far. I mean, granted, there's no "Crazy" that I've come across yet, but anyone who sings "Ya know I could be/ a would-be/ killah" is all right in my book.
